Day 2 Qom and Kashan The second holiest city in Iran and centre of Islamic study, Qom is constantly flooded with pilgrims coming to the opulent Hazrat-e Masumeh shrine. Venture through the gardens of Kashan before shopping for Iran's finest carpets at the local bazaars.
Day 3-4 Esfahan Undoubtably the most beautiful city in Iran, Esfahan is a delight to explore. Surrounding Imam, the massive town square, are beautiful bridges, blue-tiled mosques, colourful gardens, and a fascinating bazaar.
Day 5-6 Shiraz This former Iranian capital has long been considered the heart of Persian culture. Along with tranquil gardens and impressive mosques, Shiraz is home to exquisite mausoleums housing the remains of some of country's most important cultural icons.
Day 7-8 Kerman Despite its turbulent history of invasion, Kerman continues to prosper due to its location on the trading route between Central Asia and Esfahan. With ancient bazaars and tea houses, and a diverse mix of ethnicities, Kerman is unlike any other Iranian city.
Day 9-10 Yazd Built to survive the harsh conditions of the desert, the ancient town of Yazd has an architecturel style unlike any other city. Among the twisting laneways and mudbrick houses, are the spectacular temples of the Zoranstrians, followers of one of the world's oldest religions.
Day 11-12 Mashhad An important pilgrimage site for Shi'ite Muslims, Mashad is the religious heart of Iran. The town has beautiful mosques and the tomb of Imam Reza, containing two gold covered chambers.
Day 13 Tehran Daring modern buildings stand beside ancient palaces and museums in the modern day capital of Tehran.
